About

Hello, I'm Kara Latimer.
As your Mayor for Cibolo, I will be available to listen to and advocate for the issues that are important to you.

I have the experience and time to invest in our community for the position of Mayor. I am passionate about our hometown and am committed to our community's vision.

I am a Fiscal Conservative, motivated to make a positive difference in our community. By focusing support on public safety, infrastructure maintenance, business opportunities, and managed growth - we will have a better quality of life.

I serve our community as an appointed member of the Planning and Zoning Commission (2019 as a full-time member), the Master Plan Committee, and the Animal Advisory Board. I have also served on the Charter Review Committee and Unified Development Code board.

I ask for your vote and commit to you to give my very best in service to our city.

Thank you,

Kara Latimer

My Story

I am the daughter of loving and great parents. My father was a retired United States Air Force Pilot, and my mother is a native South Texan. Forty-two years ago, my family purchased land in Cibolo. I have made that land my home for eighteen years. I am married to RD Latimer, and we have six adult children and seven grandchildren. I am a small business owner specializing  in swimming pool and backyard living design/build. I completed my A.S. from San Antonio College (December 2021) and am a licensed irrigator.

Our home, a small sheep ranch behind Steele High School, reflects what Cibolo used to be. Our Ranch primarily is in the production of American Blackbelly sheep. There are some horses and working dogs for our herd as well. We have chickens and many more neighbors now than when we moved back in 2004! I am grateful that our home is a part of this growing community. It's a great life.

I feel the call to community service. I am active in our church, Word of Life. Currently, I serve our community as an appointed member of the Planning and Zoning Commission (2019 as a full-time member), the Master Plan Committee, and the Animal Advisory Board. I have also served on the Charter Review Committee and Unified Development Code board.

Our future depends on good planning and reasonable development regulations, which is my passion for the city.

I am here to serve our community.
